Pair side plates Vintage Glass Macbeth Evans American Sweetheart MONAX Pattern

Description

Set of two beautiful vintage monax glass side plates with scalloped edges dressed in gold. Made by Macbeth Evans in American Sweetheart Pattern, this pattern was produced from 1930 to 1936.
An  elaborate, finely detailed design of lacy swirls, created from a mold-etched pattern. The plates are translucent white, when held up to the light, had a faint bluish hue to it. This unique glass is called "Monax" and is sometimes mistaken as milk glass, which is thicker and whiter, monax is more opaque and appears to be more delicate.
The plates are 6 1/4" - 16 cm in diameter.
Both are in excellent condition.
